Submission Guidelines

Who can submit?

Submissions are welcome from:

  • Legal Academicians and Faculty

  • Researchers and Doctoral Candidates

  • Practicing Advocates and Legal Professionals

  • Postgraduate and Undergraduate Law Students

  • Scholars from allied disciplines with a demonstrable interest in international law and socio-political studies

 

Theme

JILPS accepts manuscripts addressing a broad spectrum of contemporary legal and interdisciplinary themes, including but not limited to:

  • International and Comparative Law

  • Human Rights and Humanitarian Law

  • Public International Law and Global Governance

  • Transnational Justice and Rule of Law

  • International Political Economy and Development

  • Socio-legal Studies and Global Inequality

  • Diplomacy, State Responsibility, and Global South Perspectives

We strongly encourage submissions that are interdisciplinary in nature and engage with doctrinal, empirical, or theoretical approaches.

 

Submission Category

Authors may submit original, unpublished work under the following categories:

  • Long Articles: 5,000–8,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Short Articles: 2,500–5,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Case Comments: 1,000–2,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Book Reviews: 1,500–2,500 words (inclusive of footnotes)

Note: All submissions must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 250 – 300 words. While authors are encouraged to adhere to the specified word limits, exceptional submissions that exceed these limits may be considered at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

 

Submission Guidelines

  1. All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under concurrent consideration by any other journal.

  2. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter containing the following details:

    • Full name(s) of author(s)

    • Institutional affiliation

    • Title of the manuscript

    • Contact email and mobile number

  3. The manuscript itself must not contain any author-identifying information to ensure an impartial peer-review process.

  4. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format only. PDF submissions will not be accepted.

  5. Text should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single spacing.

  6. Citation must conform to The Bluebook (20th Edition) or OSCOLA or ILI referencing style.

  7. Submissions may have up to three co-authors.

  8. All headings must follow consistent formatting and hierarchy.
