The Journal of International Law, Politics and Society (JILPS) [ISSN: 3108-0464] is a peer-reviewed academic forum dedicated to the advancement of rigorous and reflective scholarship at the intersection of international law, global politics, and societal transformation. As an open-access journal, JILPS is firmly committed to the principle that knowledge should be freely accessible, enabling the widest possible dissemination of research and encouraging meaningful engagement across geographical, institutional, and disciplinary boundaries. By adopting a double-blind peer-review process, the journal ensures academic integrity, objectivity, and high scholarly standards in the evaluation of all submissions. JILPS seeks to serve as an inclusive and dynamic platform for a diverse community of contributors, including academics, legal practitioners, policy analysts, doctoral researchers, and students.

Submissions are welcome from:

  • Legal Academicians and Faculty

  • Researchers and Doctoral Candidates

  • Practicing Advocates and Legal Professionals

  • Postgraduate and Undergraduate Law Students

  • Scholars from allied disciplines with a demonstrable interest in international law and socio-political studies

Themes and Scope

JILPS accepts manuscripts addressing a broad spectrum of contemporary legal and interdisciplinary themes, including but not limited to:

  • International and Comparative Law

  • Human Rights and Humanitarian Law

  • Public International Law and Global Governance

  • Transnational Justice and Rule of Law

  • International Political Economy and Development

  • Socio-legal Studies and Global Inequality

  • Diplomacy, State Responsibility, and Global South Perspectives

We strongly encourage submissions that are interdisciplinary in nature and engage with doctrinal, empirical, or theoretical approaches.

Submission Categories

Authors may submit original, unpublished work under the following categories:

  • Long Articles: 5,000–8,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Short Articles: 2,500–5,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Case Comments: 1,000–2,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

  • Book Reviews: 1,500–2,500 words (inclusive of footnotes)

Note: All submissions must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 250 – 300 words. While authors are encouraged to adhere to the specified word limits, exceptional submissions that exceed these limits may be considered at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

Submission Guidelines

  1. All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under concurrent consideration by any other journal.

  2. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter containing the following details:

    • Full name(s) of author(s)

    • Institutional affiliation

    • Title of the manuscript

    • Contact email and mobile number

  3. The manuscript itself must not contain any author-identifying information to ensure an impartial peer-review process.

  4. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format only. PDF submissions will not be accepted.

  5. Text should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single spacing.

  6. Citation must conform to The Bluebook (20th Edition) or OSCOLA or ILI referencing style.

  7. Submissions may have up to three co-authors.

  8. All headings must follow consistent formatting and hierarchy.

How to Submit

  • The Manuscript has to be sent via email to submission.jilps@gmail.com
  • Confirmation of Paper Selection or Rejection will be sent within 3-5 working days of submission. No acknowledgment mail on submission is sent.
  • Cover Letter with the Student’s Affiliation (Name of the Law Student, Year of Study, Course Name, College Name), the Title of the Manuscript, and Contact Information including an Email Address and Mobile Number. (Word file)

Publication Timeline

JILPS follows a rolling submissions model. Submissions are reviewed and processed continuously throughout the year.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • For Indian Authors: INR 1000 (for 1 Author + 1 Co-Author) must be paid.  For every extra Co-Author – Rs. 500/-.
  • For Other Countries: $30
